WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It comes from the Japanese words “rei” (universal) and “ki” (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing which targets the energy fields around the body. If our life force energy is low or blocked, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high and free-flowing, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. In conjunction with traditional medical or therapeutic treatment, Reiki has been effective in reducing or eliminating the symptoms of many illnesses and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

IN-PERSON REIKI VS. DISTANT REIKI
In an in-person session, a Reiki professional places their hands near or on the client while allowing the Reiki energy to flow through them and into the client. In a Distant Reiki session, the practitioner can offer Reiki healing without the client being in the same room or geographic location. Reiki continues to flow at any distance; no distance is too far.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you schedule your online session, I will email you a simple questionnaire asking your name, age, location, and an intention of what you want the session to support, or any areas you would like to focus on. For example, you can request help with a challenge, goal, or physical issue.
If you are interested, I will set up a Zoom call which we will log into at the time of the appointment. If you do not wish to utilize the Zoom conference, you do not have to. Instead, I will call or text you prior to the appointment so that we can discuss any last minute details or answer any questions you may have. I will also call or text at the end of the session to discuss your results.
Before or after your session, you should drink plenty of water and have a light meal or healthy snack. You may wish to keep a notebook and pen nearby to jot down any notes you'd like to share, questions, and any feelings you would like to record after your session is complete.
At the time of your appointment, find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. If you would like to, go ahead and light your favorite candle or incense. Dim the lights if desired. Set your intention to heal yourself. Allow yourself to let go of any resistance. This will allow you to enter into a very deep healing state, where healing can happen at the unconscious level. *You may fall asleep and that is perfectly normal.
You may experience physical sensations during the Distant Reiki session, such as warmth, tingling, or a sense of peace and relaxation. You may also notice a peaceful feeling or the alleviation of physical symptoms. However, you may experience no physical symptoms at all at the time of treatment, but may notice changes within a few hours afterward.
